Bible Explorer for Mac
Quick Install Instructions
- Check to make sure that your system is an Intel based machine running Leopard (OSX 10.5 or greater) and has at least 512mb of RAM. (How?)
- On the drive you will be installing BE to make sure you have at least 1 GB free. (How?)
- Check to make sure you have X11 installed. (How?)
- Download Bible Explorer for Mac from here. Once the Download is complete you can simply extract and run the installation file to complete the setup.
Detailed Instructions
Step 1
Figure 1.
- Go to the top left corner of the screen where you see the apple and click on it.
- The first menu item should be About This Mac. Select this option.
- You should get a popup similar to the one shown here. This popup has all the information you need to complete step one.
Step 2

- Open up the Finder (Blue Face Icon) from the Application Dock.
- On the left side of the window the should be a pane with the heading Devices. You might need to click the arrow next to the heading so that the Devices are listed underneath as shown in Figure 2A.
- Select the drive with a secondary mouse click. (press and hold down Command while clicking.)
- Select Get Info.
- You should see a popup window come up with detailed information on the drive you selected. Under the heading Available it will display how much space is left as shown in Figure 2B.

Step 3
- Open up the Finder (Blue Face Icon) from the Application Dock.
- Under your Applications in Finder look for a directory labeled Utilities.
- In this directory you should see an application named X11. If not, you can go here to download and install it free of charge.
Step 4 (Safari Specific Directions)
- Click here to download the Bible Explorer for Mac program.
- A download dialog should appear with a progress bar.
- Once the download is complete you can go to your Downloads folder from either the Application Dock or from the left pane of the Finder.
- In the Downloads folder you should see a file named BE4MacSetup.zip. Secondary click (press and hold down Command while clicking) on the file and select Open.
- A new file will appear with the name BE Setup.mpkg. Again, Secondary click on the Icon and select Open.
- You should see a window open similar to the one below. From here you can complete the installation of the program.
- Once the installation is complete, to run the program, just go to the Applications in Finder and select Bible Explorer 4!
